Harry Potter and the Lazy Fan

I have been afflicted by cravings of Harry Potter again. I so want to finish the fifth n sixth books . I first want to finish the Order of the Phoenix before its movie release this friday, so as to watch the movie in the big screen AFTER reading the book. One confession - I have NEVER watched a HP movie on the big screen! What a loss! I have only 3 more chances left. Will want to definitely make up for lost time. Infact - I wonder why I resisted the HP temptation for so long. I started reading those delightful pieces of literature on a friend's prolonged and continuous insistence. Even after I started reading them - I have been fairly sporadic in my HP reading habits despite thoroughly enjoying all the books. I have actually spent night-outs reading Wiki and other websites on HP. Unbelievable! my No-enthu da bursts and their destructive effects on my genuine liking for HP. Here is a summary of when I read each book, to drive home the point -

HP 1 - May 2005
HP2 - June 2005
HP3 - March 2007!!! Blame this on IIMB. but what a loss of 2 years. I remember finishing it just after I returned from my Goa trip.
HP4 - April 2007 - I remember enjoying my train journeys and even Auto journeys reading this book. I completed this at home - in one huge session where I raced through 300 pages.
HP 5, 6 - Still to read!!!! (despite both books lying at home for the last 3 months!)
Let's see if I resist No enthu to finish this book on time. To beat it to the theater, literally!

when we hear a song or eat a specific kind of food, we go back in time to when we did the same thing earlier and we liked it very much!

anda maari... i will always in life associate reading HP[all 4] like a maniac to my stay in hospital for those 15 fateful days. Ranga will very much remmebr the July 2003 i am talking abt, whr i had a strange 'unknown' illness.

but i knew the purpose of the illness :P i was bit by the HP bug, though belatedly. I read the 4 HP books[released at tht time] at a stretch and i remember racing with the 5th book to finish it. Thnx chetana there for the borrowed book!

Thnx for the 6th book to J, the present for B-day yr 2005. tht was first read bu Bull, then i too finished it in one go... daily sittings!.. :P in preperation for last CAT! ;)

... memories and all rushing! I would not give up anything for the HP feel... amazing!

the movies shade in comparison... but i love Emma Watson.. so its ok, will watch them all with my kids... for sure! ;)

Super da Makki! I loved the feeling da, of racing through the pages in the 3rd and 4th book, awaiting that ending. Excellent books both. I also particularly remember feeling extremely happy reading the second book - feel good max it was.
@Others - share your HP experiences if you have any...

Chi. Makki and Self watched HP5 in Devi Paradise. It was a finishing experience I must say. HP is indeed an experience. Feeling sad at not having the privilege of doing this for the prev 4 movies. Reading the book n then watching it on screen. I am now waiting for 7....More than ever.

I anyday like the books more, can read them over and over again for fun... the movies- it feels like u are watching a trailer for those 2 odd hours... they kill the book (i dont care what the producers say).

@Chetana - Welcome back aboard. Hope to see you around more often. And yeah, the movies are only a snap shot of the joy that the books provide.
